Goban Goban Help

Playing on your local network using Rendezvous

Getting started

The tools to play Go on your local network can be found in the Go Library window (which is or will be used for other purposes, hence its name).

On the left, is a list of "Sources", some of which can be Internet Go servers. The +/- menu at the bottom of the list lets you start a Go server of your own. People on your local network will see and will be able to log on this server.

Goban's built-in server does not keep track of games and ranks as other Internet servers do. Therefore, you don't have to register in order to play. Anybody logged on can match anybody else. Otherwise, playing on this server is just like playing on an Internet Go server, so you should have a look at this documentation.

Preferences

The Network preference panel lets you specify some aspects of Rendezvous Go: if you want to start automatically a server, the name of your server, if you want to automatically log on local servers, and your default login name.
